Since 1923, Wendell August Forge has been producing unique handmade gifts in Mercer County.  Wendell August Forge founded by coal miner Wendell McMinn August, when he engaged a blacksmith in his mine to hand-forge door latches for his home.  With that assignment, Wendell August Forge was born.

The expert artisans at Wendell August Forge hand-etch their original designs into each die. Each piece is hand-wrought by a skilled craftsman using an eight-step process that is rooted in ancient metalworking techniques.

Tour the Wendell August Forge History Center, shop at their Flagship store and visit the Coal Fired Forge to see how the magic happens.  All are located in the same building.
