Jamestown, PA

Jamestown was founded by and named after, James Campbell, first settler with his family in 1798. The Borough was incorporated in 1853, as part of Mercer County. Early growth was spurred along because of Shenango River access, with many mills and businesses built along the River. Starting in the mid 1800’s, Railroads going through the town, with Depots located here, further provided a favorable location for various trades and specialty businesses. Kicking off the summer events in Mercer, the Mercer Memorial Day 500 Organization celebrates our veterans with the Memorial Day 500 Parade.

Sandy Lake, PA

Today the borough of Sandy Lake has the distinction of being the only Sandy Lake in the United States. The borough and the township takes its name from a fine sheet of water lying west of town, surrounded by farming country. Home to Maurice K. Goddard State Park and Lake Wilhelm with miles of bike trails, wildlife and water activities for visitors to enjoy.
